We offer an exciting fishing adventure to suit everyone's skills and budget!
Reel River Sports Fishing specifically caters for the experienced lure angler and anglers looking to further their skillset but do cater for all types of anglers including families with children. We even have a shade canopy available if needed. Whilst on charter, Shane will offer suggestions and tips about how to effectively use hard body lures, soft plastics, blades and vibes and tips on catching and utilising live baits. All tackle onboard is supplied by The Lure Shop in Cooktown who supply only the highest quality tackle suitable for Far North QLD. Shane uses Twin River Lures and Duo Lures to hook everything from Barramundi to Coral Trout!
The most common and desired species targeted include Barramundi, Threadfin Salmon, Mangrove Jack, Fingermark and Black Jewfish. The Weipa region has one of the most diverse eco systems in Australia.
A lunch is provide free of charge on full day charters as is tea, coffee, soft drinks and ice cold water. We even do Free Aiport and Accomodation pick ups and drop offs. The only items that the you need to bring is a long sleeve shirt, hat and a camera to record your trip of a life time!
The vessel is equipped with quality rods and reels with both spin and bait cast options available and all equipment and terminal tackle are supplied on a replaced if lost basis at cost price. Owner operator and Guide, Shane, is born and bred on Cape York and as such, all terminal tackle is handpicked with only the best lures and baits used based on 25 years’ experience fishing the Cape York region.
For those that want a small taste of the good life, we can start early and have you home for lunch.
Leaving the dock at 6:30am and returning to port by 5pm (unless the fish are biting in which case we may stay a little longer...) Lunch is supplied FREE of charge plus tea/coffee and ice cold drinks
